YT Music Album Sorter is a Chrome extension by Damian Helme for organising your saved albums on YouTube Music. Sort by artist, drag albums into an order you choose, and add section headings to group your collection.

Arrange your library

  • Sort your saved albums by artist or keep a custom order.
  • Move albums together by selecting several and dragging them into place.
  • Create sections for genres, favourites, or albums you want to revisit.
  • Search your collection and open an album in YouTube Music to play it.
  • Export and import your arrangement as a file.
  • Bring albums across from Spotify, choosing which ones to add.

The extension displays your arrangement on your YouTube Music albums page. It changes how you browse your saved albums rather than what is in your library. The one exception is the Spotify import below, which adds albums you have chosen; nothing is ever removed.

Keep your arrangement across browsers

Your library and arrangement are saved in your browser. You can optionally connect Google Drive to sync them between browsers where the extension is installed.

Google sign-in grants access to a hidden folder used only for this extension's data. The extension stores album details, your ordering, section headings and settings there. It does not request access to your other Drive files. You can disconnect sync or revoke its Google account access at any time.

Bring your albums from Spotify

If you are moving from Spotify, the import reads the albums saved in your Spotify library, finds each one on YouTube Music, and adds the ones you tick. You see every match before anything is added, albums already in your library are skipped, and nothing is removed from either service.

Reading Spotify needs your permission for open.spotify.com. The extension asks the first time you use the import, never when you install it, and not at all if you never use it.

Privacy and support

The extension has no developer-operated server, advertising or analytics. Optional Drive sync sends your library data to your own Google Drive. The privacy policy explains what is stored and how to remove it.
